Changes...

I took the day off work for my b-day last week. Hooray! We all went on a little hike. The kids mostly whined but I just kept reminding them how much fun they were having. 31 is kind of a depressing age. Eliza looks a little crazed in this picture, I had to share it because the camera rarely captures her true nature.
And introducing.... Mike's new office. Don't you love the wall art? He is teaching full-time at the local university this year. I will be cutting back my hours soon and changing my job from head of the dietary department to consultant dietitian. This means no more 5 am phone calls and no more crazy scheduling. I'm excited to have holidays with the family again! I am a little bit nervous about turning over this job to someone else... it is my baby because I was hired before the place even opened and put a lot of procedures into place.

And check out this house!!! Extreme makeover home-edition is in town this week helping out a single mom with 9 kids whose house burnt down and she had cancer and a gazillion other problems. The family returns tomorrow for the big reveal. I couldn't wait though... I went down to check it out and it looks great. I would live in it. There seemed to be about 100 people in blue t-shirts and hard hats just standing around.
And rumor has it (from an unreliable source) a famous werewolf (ie Taylor Lsomething McShirt Off) has checked into a local hotel to be on hand for the unveiling of the house. The traffic over in that part of town is horrendous, as well as the crowds of people attempting to get a look at the various stars.

So... who wants to give my apartment an extreme makeover?

31 is a depressing age. Sorry. I am glad that you get to spend more time at home though. Best of luck with the switch.

That pic of Eliza is hilarious-- I love it!!! Your kiddos are growing up.

Happy late b-day by the way!! I understand about the 31 thing. I felt glum this year turning 35, too.

31's not so bad, I know many people who have stayed 31 for years, of their own free will and choice :)

That's great about Mike teaching full-time. I bet you are ready to stay at home with your kids again.

Happy Birthday!

It probably sounds lame that I really thought of you on your birthday but then didn't email, text, call, or do anything about it! Anyway, Happy Birthday last week!
You guys have big changes going on. Good luck with everything. I'm sure you'll handle them all smoothly. :)

Hahaha at your Taylor L comment. That made me chuckle. Congrats Mike!!! I think that is fabulous!! What classes does he have the privilege of teaching? Also, congrats on cutting back on your hours, even if it is bittersweet. Maybe we should meet up at a park and let the kids play before autumn comes in full swing. Shoot me off an email if you are interested! :-) Take care.

Congratulations to both of you on work changes. Hope that all goes well. Brady's mom always said that 32 was the most depressing age to her because it took her forever to turn 16, but in no time she was 32 and that is 16 twice. I guess when I was younger I never really considered life beyond 21 or 22--who ever thinks they are going to be 31 someday?

Yay for Mike's job! It give me so hope that Wayne might get one some day after he graduates;) And that's cool that you got to go see the house. I haven't seen it yet. Maybe I'll drive by today. Good luck with everything, and your kids are very cute.
